General requirements include:
All applicants must submit the following documents when applying for a Schengen visit visa:
- Visa Application Form – Completed and signed by the applicant.
- Passport – Valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay, with a minimum of two blank pages.
- Photographs – Two recent passport-sized colour photos (white background).
- Cover Letter – Stating the purpose of visit, travel dates, and itinerary.
- Travel Itinerary – Proof of flight reservations and accommodation bookings.
- Travel Insurance – Valid for all Schengen countries, covering at least €30,000 in medical emergencies.
- Proof of Financial Means – Recent bank statements (last 3 to 6 months) showing sufficient funds to cover stay and expenses.
- Proof of Employment or Business – Depending on your occupation (see below).
- Visa Fee – As per the current Schengen embassy/consulate fee schedule.
- Previous Visa Copies – If applicable, attach copies of previously issued Schengen or other international visas.
If applicant is self employed:
Applicants who are self-employed must provide the following additional documents:
- Business Registration Certificate or Trade License – Proof of ownership and legal operation of your business.
- Company Bank Statements – Latest 3 to 6 months of business bank account statements.
- Income Tax Returns (ITR) – Most recent tax documents or proof of tax payment.
- Business Profile – Brief description of the company, including nature of business, products/services, and client base.
- Letter of Self-Employment – A signed declaration stating your business position, purpose of travel, and travel duration.
Processing & Tips
- Apply at least 3–4 weeks before your travel date.
- Ensure all documents are in English or officially translated.
- The embassy may request additional documents or an interview.
- Normal processing time: 15 working days (may vary).
